Ken Kelley comes to the Ellis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center with over forty years of professional health care experience in Acute Care hospitals and Skilled Nursing homes. He has demonstrated success in the areas of operational and clinical management, census development, quality improvement initiatives, staff retention, customer service and excellent DPH and JCAHO surveys. Ken and his wife have lived in Westford, MA for 35 years. They have two daughters and are expecting their second and third grandchildren over the summer.
Director of Nursing
Dawn Scholl RN, BSN, has been at the Ellis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center since November, 2012. Prior to that she spent 13 years as a Director/ Manager in long-term care and 3 years in acute care. "I enjoy working with nursing staff at The Ellis to continue to provide excellent care to the residents, and provide support to the families. The Ellis has a wonderful staff with lots of longevity, which says worlds about the Franchi family. This is a very compassionate and caring facility and I am proud to be part of the team."
Assistant Director of Nursing
Paula McAleer, RN - Assistant Director of Nursing Paula McAleer, R.N. has been the Assistant Director of Nursing since February, 2004. Paula joined the staff at the Ellis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in July, 1999 and has held various staff and managerial positions. Her personal, long-term commitment to The Ellis team continues to enrich the lives of its residents. "My objective is to provide the best possible quality of care for our residents each and every day by cultivating an atmosphere of team work, kindness and compassion."
Director of Admissions
June Jordan joined the Ellis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in March of 2013. June has a nursing background and has worked in long term or acute care for over 20 years. She enjoys guiding families through the process of making a safe, secure plan for their loved one’s rehab or long term care needs. “I find it especially satisfying when I see a resident returning home after a successful rehab or a long term resident enjoying a musical activity with new friends. I am very happy to be able to offer all the wonderful services The Ellis provides in a warm and comfortable atmosphere. I am new to The Ellis family and I am thrilled to be here!"
Diane has fifteen years of experience as a Case Manager for The Ellis Rehabilitation & Nursing Center and as a Team Leader of Case Management for Tufts Health Plan. “Returning to The Ellis has been my greatest joy. The Franchi Family’s philosophy of providing high quality care in a warm and inviting home-like setting is witnessed daily in the kind and gentle resident caring from all members of our health care team. Practicing the principles of case management within this resident-centered philosophy creates the collaborative partnership that is The Ellis.”
Director of Rehabilitation
Diane graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy. Her background includes clinical experience in cardiac, stroke, sports medicine, and mental retardation as well as direct therapy services in a skilled nursing and rehab environment. Diane became a manager of rehabilitation in 1993 and has continued to manage and provide services in geriatric nursing and rehabilitation. “ I found my passion working with geriatric patients in 1991. My goal is to have all patients return to their highest level of function by providing services in a positive and enriching environment.”
Director of Social Services
Michelle Clark joined The Ellis Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in November 2012 as Director of Social Services. She is a Licensed Social Worker with a Masters degree in counseling and is licensed as a Mental Health Counselor. Michelle has many years of experience working in hospice programs and long term care settings. “I am pleased to be working with a team of professionals who are dedicated to providing quality care to our residents and in providing them with the opportunity to enjoy their time with us at The Ellis.”
Sharon has been a certified Activity Director for over 15 years. She has extensive experience working with individuals with dementia. She also leads a monthly Alzheimer support group that helps families to cope and understand the disease process. “Focusing on an individual’s strength as opposed to their weakness is the key to your loved one’s health and happiness. This is their home “away” from home, and as a team, we strive to provide a comfortable and family like atmosphere. This is not just a job to me. This is a way of life that I have chosen and truly enjoy.”
Food Service Director
With 26 years' experience in the culinary arts, Silvio Carreiro spent 12 years as a restaurant chef before transitioning to the residential care culinary field. As Director of Food Services, his goal at The Ellis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is to achieve and maintain the highest quality of dining services possible. "We strive to make EVERY meal that leaves our kitchen our BEST meal...and we believe the key to success is keeping our lines of communication open to all of our customers and delivering high quality food in a home-like setting."
